百年土木

每一项伟大的工程背后，都书写着一个传奇。

百年基业，一脉相承。始于1896年，从山海关北洋铁路官学堂到唐山交通大学、中国交通大学唐山工学院、唐山铁道学院，再到今天的西南交通大学成为我国首批进入“211”工程的重点大学。

百年的历史更替，岁月洗礼，造就了一座文化浓厚的历史名校。为桥梁的建设，城市的发展增添一抹色彩，它将终究成为一座城市的历史程碑，源远流长。

学校以工为主，将工、理、管、文相结合，专注多学科综合发展，培养的学生中，如今已有60多名校友被选任为中国科学院、中国工程院、美国工程科学院院士。西南交大土木工程专业拥有百年历史。多年的办学历程，铸就了“百年土木”的优良教学传统，培养出一代又一代的国家栋梁之材。西南交通大学土木工程专业，百年的历史征程中，经过一代又一代土木人的不懈奋斗和努力，创造了享誉中外的卓越成就。

Every single great achievement makes a legend

Centenary foundation goes the same strain. The university originated in 1896, naming from Shanhaiguan Beiyang Railway Government School to Tangshan Jiaotong University, to China Jiaotong University Tangshan Technology Institute, to Tangshan Railway Institute, and to Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU). The university has become China's first batch of universities with the "211" engineering title.

After hundred years of development, the university has become famous with a strong cultural history. The university has contributed significantly for the bridge construction and the city's development and eventually become a city's everlasting and historic milestone.

The SWJTU majors in the Engineering discipline, and combines Engineering, Science, Liberal Arts, and Management, thus focusing on the multidisciplinary comprehensive development. So far, more than 60 alumni have been elected as the academicians in Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Engineering, and American Academy of Engineering Science. Civil Engineering of SWJTU has a century-old history. With years of school history, SWJTU has developed a "century civil" and excellent teaching traditions and trained thousands of national talents. After a hundred years of historical journey, the major of Civil engineering at SWJTU has made the world-renowned achievements through the generations of civilians of unremitting efforts.
